Tam strávil několik let v klášteře, aby se poté mohl vrátit do Irska jako křesťanský misionář. Zřídil zde i mnoho klášterů a škol. Dodnes se ke svatým místům, kde svatý Patrik podle legend pobýval, vydávají křesťané.
